Italy 🇮🇹: The authorities in Rome are fighting a rat infestation around the Colosseum.

The city's head of rubbish collection, Sabrina Alfonsi, said there had been an "extraordinary intervention" over the weekend by workers cleaning up rubbish and setting up traps.

Alfonsi said the rats were attracted by the piles of rubbish left by tourists.
