God was willing to grant the young king Solomon anything he wanted. Rather than asking for riches or long life, Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom so he could lead the Lord’s people rightly. In other words, he was seeking above all else the kingdom of God and his righteousness. The Lord made Solomon the wisest man on Earth, and gave him riches and long life, too. This is the way.
