Anyone else periodically have to refollow people you didn’t unfollow? I have blocked accounts, but never unfollowed.

Yep
Yes. Usually I check to make sure all my relays are connected. If not then restarting my app so they connect many times will fix it.
I was going to mention that too. Before hopping on here, I check to make sure I’m at least connected to my own relay. That way at least mine is catching any and all interactions I make in here.
It happened to me several times playing with relays, now I don't touch them and perfect
Ahh, I did do that a few days ago. Thx!
It used to happen to me but not anymore
you unfollowed me 😔
Not on purpose. Refollowed
😭😭❣️❣️🤗🤗
Wonder if the follower list, when changed, was also given a local update, and would be regularly resent out to relays. That .json is pretty small, so local storage isn't a problem. Should be an easy enough fix.
i got lost when you said “local update” so the rest is just like 😵💫🤪 but whatever it is, i think it’s personally attacking me still. 😂😂
Yes, however I wonder if it’s a relay issue and if they’d still be followed if not for that disconnect? I still refollow when I notice though just in case
I used to. Relays I’m running now pretty steady eddy.
Yes but it has not happemed in a couple of weeks. If you are messing with relays ( adding, removing, changing read/write) i think that is the root of the problem. Also swapping between clients i think can sometimes cause it but all seems to rapidly be getting fixed.
I cannot confirm for sure that I have but it seems like I’ve refollowed a few so far.
Known bug in many clients, sometimes you can lose all your follows
This has already happened to me twice with snort. #[2]
Yes several times. I know I followed and then later shows not following 🤷♀️
I lost all my follows like a week ago 🤷♂️

Yup. Frustrating as hell
Does anyone know where follows are stored? Client or relay?
Don't think so
Yeah - I'm pretty sure mine were from playing around with many clients.
When you add someone to your follows, your client doesn't just send a message that you're now following them. It sends a new updated follow list plus that person.
If that client has an older follow list, your more recent follows get lost.
Every couple of days. I'm trialling several workarounds - I run my own relay now, also use some paid relays. Iris now let you download a JSON of your followers, so you can upload the backup if you lose followers in future (have downloaded snapshot, but not yet done a restore)
