I was thinking of you when I heard the news. The bright side is that the US actually cannot afford more war. It hasn't been able to for a long time, obviously, but now many Americans seem to understand the cost and there's much less political appetite for it. Also the Trump admin is priding itself on surgical actions.

So, all the empire/oil/fiat craziness aside, this might mean much less chaos for Venezuelans than in other US regime changes.

Afford means having the money to pay for something. The US takes in almost 5.5 trillion in tax revenue. They can print as much as the want.

They absolutely can afford a 1Trillion war. Will there be consequences to Americans savings? Absolutely. But they can afford it. That's exactly what the fiat system was designed for
