The entire global bond market is dominated by the decisions of a dozen men who sign off the major capital flows across asset types for giant AUM funds, nobody in the general public really knows who these people are.

But they all know each other, they talk weekly/monthly, and the destination of the global economy, including your life savings and job security is basically priced off the vibe in their Clash of Clans clan chat.

This overstates their power a bit. The US dollar doesn't actually control the world, it's just been the dominant currency for a while

Where did you see me say US dollars?

The bond market doesn't control the world in any way, denominated in any currency

Capital has limited influence, and most of the capital with influence is land, not derivatives

So your multinational corporation uses land prices, as the risk free rate of return when making capital allocation decisions?

I haven’t checked my notes, but I don’t think that’s orthodox or GAAP.

Pretty sure 99% of corporate finance departments use their domestic base rate, which is directly determined by their sovX price.

I don't have a multinational corporation. I live on land

Your post was good, I'm just saying these men don't control everyone's individual lives. They've caused things to happen in everyone's lives, and they'll cause other things to happen, and you can cause things to happen to them too. They're mere mortal men with big well-connected ropes to pull on

I have a feeling that it's not just the bond market; those dozens of men have more control over many important aspects we don't want know about. Because whatever is happening right now doesn't make any sense. But at that scale, nothing happens without a reason. There is definitely a lot we don't know.
