Just in case you were wondering:

Cigarette producers use various chemical additives to impact the humidity, flavor, and overall experience of smoking. Some common additives include:

1. **Humectants:** Such as glycerol and propylene glycol, which help maintain moisture levels in the tobacco to keep it from drying out.

2. **Flavorings:** Such as menthol, cocoa, and licorice, which can enhance or mask certain flavors in the tobacco.

3. **Sugars:** Like sucrose and high fructose corn syrup, which can sweeten the smoke and make it more palatable.

4. **Ammonia compounds:** Which can increase the pH of the smoke, making nicotine more readily absorbed by the body.

5. **Preservatives:** Such as sorbic acid, which can extend the shelf life of the tobacco.

6. **Burn accelerants:** Such as potassium nitrate, which help ensure the cigarette burns evenly and consistently.

As for filters, they are bad because they mask poison by thinning it (<2% inflation 😁) and make the smoke tolerable for inhaling which otherwise you wouldn't. They trick your body defenses. Extend the process of your death over a longer period.

I did not mention the obvious, but... Check what happens when these things burn, even the seemingly innocent ones like sugar.
