The Poverty of Networks

Fungi control the flow of minerals they obtain. This can cause problems for plants connected to large, shared mycorhizzal networks.

The preferential delivery of these minerals to large trees rather than smaller trees is predicated upon how much sugar (carbon) a certain size tree can afford. Large trees are carbon rich and small trees are carbon poor.

In these situations smaller trees only benefit when they are severed from the network or, larger trees on the shared network are killed. Think of a bank or a social media platform. If you get your account shut down because you are a very small player upon the "balance sheet stage" it hurts. But, if you can weather the storm and move to more decentralized versions of the same you can greatly benefit.

nostr and bitcoin cannot be shut down. The learning curve can be daunting but if successfully navigated it is "Forever Freedom".
