Some of the old school forum sagas like the Anus Laptops saga or the P-P-P-Powerbook saga (I think that's the name) involved people literally sending junk to the scammers (who at this time wanted laptops with bad checks instead of gift cards since that was the scam big in the 00s) using the "bill recipient" payment for shipping services. So scammers would be on the hook paying for shipments of junk washing machines, bricks, ewaste, etc.

Others would make them do things ranging from trying to make music videos to the famous picture of a Thinkpad hanging from a scammer's dick.
