Yes, in the UK we're free to keep chickens, as long as we register them with the state.

We can be put in a cage for 6 months if we fail to do so.

Just to err on the side of caution the people of Britain have made sure to register their frozen chickens, the drumsticks, wings etc.

Better to be safe than sorry.
