For people like me who are far from software, "open source" software has no meaning.

What will happen if you open everything?

We will not understand.

Even if you explain, we will not understand.

But it's a good thing for those who understand. I can understand that. : ))

Yeah one way to look at it prevents an app or company to get “critical mass” that allows it to enforce its will onto everyone.

In an open system like #nostr, people can change apps and all of their data are automatically there.

Apps, services, and projects are incentivized to do what is good for users.
