We haven't truly experienced a free-market capitalist system (where individuals have the right to keep what they produce) because the money we use undermines property rights through inflation. Funny enough, central banks are communist in nature.

In reality, America operates under a system of crony statism, so there's no such thing as crony capitalism (which is an oxymoron) or a late-stage version of it.

It simply comes down to this:

private ownership (where you decide what to do with what you create) or government intervention (with a central authority controlling resources produced by market actors).

Now, you tell me: Do you like owning what you make?

Or do you prefer a top-down mechanism where you're forced to relinquish said goods via the threat or use of coercion?
