In general, saying that which isn't true, to deceive others, isn't acceptable. It's a huge denial of their agency.

But how about a "lie of ommision?" I don't think everyone is entitled to know everything I know, and if they assume something incorrectly, I don't think I have a moral responsibility to correct them.
