You mean crypto usage? It's the only place aside from maybe private international transfers.

I don't know what you mean by mass adoption, but the black market is already big enough IMO

Well it's a black market as labelled by the state, not in any moral sense. But for most people (at the moment at least) what the state labels something is what counts
