You are correct and i have a profile dedicated solely for google usage. Still dont think it should be required

I'm with you. Same process here, multiple profiles. 🙂 This is a Google problem, not a GrapheneOS issue. Google's entre foundational OS reliés exclusively on GPS. I push hard to use FOSS only apps as much as humanly possible but I have to rely on Aurora from time to time... I feel safe. 🥷
