If the npub isn't in the relays configured for your pubkey then they won't be able to be tagged. Clients try to fetch the npub from the relay when you tag someone (unless it's already cached) and then replace the npub with the name. If the npub isn't in the relay, it won't get converted to a tag.

You can search for #babechain in NostrGram and then click "Save Search To Menu". That will put the search in the menu bar so you can click it any time you want to get new notes with that hashtag.
