Great question. Would be curious to hear what others think but I think we’ve drifted away from appreciating craftsmanship and the time it takes to create great work. Also furniture is just functional. Get something cheap that will last for a bit rather than expensive that will last forever.
The other day I had the same concern. I think fiat money encourages consumerism. People tend to replace their furniture frequently instead of choosing durable and timeless pieces that save money in the long term.
