My name is on this site. If you want to try and find out my net worth, knock yourself out. I don’t give a shit.
If you were not so disingenous, you would not be suggesting I dox myself. Nowhere do I suggest anyone dox himself.
The post you cited to start this entire argument was me replying to Odell that I disagreed one should conjoin if you get paid in bitcoin so your boss (if he’s enough of a psycho to try and track you) can’t do so.
That the point of bitcoin was that no one could stop you from spending your money how you wish.
I try to live my life from a position of empowerment. I am lucky to be born in an era where there’s freedom tech. If the government wants to kill me for using it, then it will. But the odds are against that, and I prefer to use it openly and encourage others to do the same, rather than being worried about some loser boss spying on my purchases or social media posts.
I value my privacy quite a bit. I only post the things publicly I want to reveal. But I’m also not going to live my life in such a way that no one could ever discover my net worth or whether I bought a house or car. I don’t really care.
I also never said someone shouldn’t be allowed to conjoin or retain more financial privacy for things I care less about. If that’s super important to you, then absolutely do whatever you want. So I don’t even know why you’re so triggered.
Instead of looking for “malicious motives” why not consider what I’m saying at face value: Is it not a more robust, prosperous and secure society where you can buy or own things openly and without fear than one where everyone needs to hide everything to optimize op sec?
Isn’t a big problem with communism that they can and will seize your wealth no matter how fairly earned? And doesn’t this freedom tech ultimately solve this problem and allow people to resist this kind of unjust seizure or at least make it far more difficult?
I think we should emphasize empowerment but often err on the side of fear.
