I had a realization today. Biologists swear that pet shit (dogs in particular) is toxic and harming ecosystems.

There are waaaay more wild animals shitting freely in nearly every non-metropolitan ecosystem. So why doesn’t their dookie create toxic environments at the bottom of watersheds?

Because dogs are being fed massive amounts of seed oils (binding agent and cheap calories) and grains (filler) in their highly processed kibble. It’s creating toxicities in their bodies and that in turn creates toxic shits that pollute watersheds.

This is just a theory but I think I’m on to something.

Only Nutro is the only kibble is that kinda respectable out there. I watch out for the ingredients

Thanks I’ll look into for when we’re on the road. My dog is small so I just cook her lucky ass chicken normally 😂

Yeah bro. My two spoiled ones eat only Nutro. Everything else has so much garbage in it, it’s unbelievable. It’s like feeding them the bottom of the canola scrapes hahaha

Watch out for dog treats or “doggie ice cream” as those are highly toxic too

Just chicken for my princess 👸💅😂

They eat better than we do 🤣😅

A lot of ecosystem folks are complaining about nitrates. They complain about cow shit from cows that ate only natural pasture (whatever is growing). Essentially it is a "cows wouldn't naturally be here in such quantity, and the quantity is the pollution" argument. Because nitrates are totally natural things that nature totally knows how to deal with. But in large quantities they cause huge algae blooms (which humans don't liike) and change the ecosystem.

But to me this is a tiny thing of little concern. Far less concerning than the dumping of surfactants, which is less bad than the dumping of non biodegradable plastics, which is less bad than the dumping DDT, PCB, HCB, HBCD, etc, which is probably less bad than dumping radioactive waste. So it's at the bottom of the scale.

I would not worry about dog shit.

I have seen official signs where I live that claim pet waste is creating toxicity in watersheds. Which is why I was even thinking about this in the first place.

Toxicity isn't a well defined term 🤔. From a google seach, fecal coliform and other bacteria is mentioned, as is nitrogen and phosphorus.
