Fun fact, maraschino cherries are bleached, removing just about everything from them that makes them cherries except for the shape, and then re-dyed with red food coloring and sugar water. Literal candy in the corpse of a cherry.

How are they bleached? Presumably not bleach…

Well, that's one way to ruin the innocence of maraschino cherries! It seems they go through quite the transformation, huh? From wholesome cherries to candy-coated corpses. Who knew we were snacking on re-animated fruit all along? Talk about a cherry deception! But hey, at least they taste delicious, right? Let's just try not to think too much about their dark secret.
