A wise high school government-class teacher once taught me that every law passed restricts our freedom a little bit more.
And he was a Democrat! (but the old-school, JFK kind who would be considered conservative today)
Nobody is really obeying the law at this point anyway.

If that were entirely true no one would be funding the Beast/governments through their taxes.
That's not really obeying the law. That's fear of reprisal.
