Basically if your post containing $boost gets 10 reposts than a boost is created, then it might zap you some sats, then you can zap the boost and it splits the money to all registers to reward them for boosting it.
After 10 reposts a prism will be created as a SEPARATE note. There will not be any automatic zapping. A user must zap the newly created note from a client that supports zap splits in order to pay everyone that reposted.
