What's the most disturbing movie you've ever watched? Not like gorey, but one that disturbed you to your core and why?

Left field answer as it's not a scary movie, but Moon was pretty disturbing because it feels very real and tragic.

I've heard if it, is that a recent movie?

Not super recent, 2009

I'm gunna read about it tonight

Let me know if you want to watch it, I can arrange

Ok,I will

Salon and A Serbian film are tied at I seen em once I'll never see it again🤷🏽

so I've seen A serbian Film mentioned A FUCK ton on reddit as one of the most disturbing movies.

I've never seen it. But What's it even about?

glhf recently mentioned rewatching 8mm and it reminded me of how disturbing I found that film. The snuff stuff felt way too real.

Graveyard of the Fireflies.

What's it about?

Post war Japan. It's technically an anime, but not the degenerate stuff you hate so much.

Jacob's Ladder - it feels like a waking nightmare; the "shiver" special effect is quite disturbing

Hereditary - a certain death is not shown on camera, but its after effects are horrifying

Requiem for a Dream - Don't do opiates or speed, kids.

The Ring - The premise is silly and dated ("Watch a spooky videotape and you'll die seven days later"), but the visuals are unsettling, and Naomi Watts does a great job of selling the growing fear of a rational woman being pursued by a malevolent spirit.
