No shit. I’m not at all surprised at how rigged it is. But I didn’t realized they just put that shit into actual law.
I think it was easier than having to overlook customers getting roughed up for picking a garbage company that wasn’t run by the right turf ringleaders.
No I’m not buying that for a second.
This is lobbied rent seeking. This is how fiat works. The garbage company promised a boat load of cash to all the people who could pass this law.
They write it as good for the environment, then get exclusive rights to collect subscriptions and apparently fine you as if they are a government agency, but they’re not.
Can you imagine if coke could find you for drinking Pepsi? They would if they could.
This is only made possible by men with guns. And it wasn’t the mafia, it’s your local government.
