I prefer automatic transmission with automatic brakes for traffic. Now I wonder if it's called automatic brake in English... When you push the brake and it locks even in a ramp.
Totally agree because the lag between the gear grabbing and when I let off the brake in an automatic, is dangerous. Feathering clutch is way easier to manage space in traffic. I do drive a giant 18-Wheeler so, maybe that makes a difference.
Even in a car. Dealing with the delay between pressing the gas and going is annoying. Much rather feather the clutch, also engine braking

Yep. But I would not agree on smoothness as there are adults that cannot shift. Even here in Germany where manual is the standard
There are so many "comfort" features that are not good for cars: Take Start-Stop turnoff for example. It's not good for the motor.
Yeah I don’t like start stop. Also, rev hang is horrible on new cars. It is smoother if you know what you’re doing though
