The home I'm moving into is in a somewhat remote location. Doesn't have 5G home internet or cable internet.
Hate to do it (might not have any other choice) but does anyone have any experience in using Starlink?

A friend has it on his RV, and it can either be great or suck ass depending on the location. Find out if there's any T-mobile coverage there! Didn't used to be here, but they expanded coverage recently and now I have 5g home internet for $30/month
Already checked my new address to see if t mobile home internet service was available but unfortunately it's not.
Well damn.
Though technically my address doesn't show as available in their system, but I'm in one of their better coverage areas. So might not hurt to invite someone with T-mobile phone over and see if they get a solid signal!
Thx, I'll have to call them. I use MintSim cell service and it shows my address as an area of coverage and they use t-mobile towers so I'm hopeful they'll be able to tell me that I can use their home internet service π€
You might get them to let you borrow a unit to test, but any T-mobile Sim should give you a good read on if it'll work π₯
Yeah problem is I don't live there to test & my GF needs the internet ready and set up on Day 1 of moving in, to work.
Starlink requires a 2 week lead time to order so we'd have to find some way to figure out if T-Mobile will work on our property beforehand.
Yeah - it solved my internet woes.
It took me a little while to find the right spot but no regrets.
Appreciate the tip. Gonna Mount it on the roof so should have a clear sky to work with.
Yes. It is fast and reliable, but expensive at $120/month (plus $500 up front).
Yeah I hear one of the bummers is that the monthly fee has already gone through 2 upward price adjustments.
You have to buy an Ethernet adapter for your node. It doesnβt come with Ethernet connection standard.
Thx for the tip π€
I know a couple of people with Starlink and they like it. I have heard there is a long wait for getting Starlink at your home, but no wait for RV Starlink, so if you need it quickly get RV Starlink and use it at home.
I think it says 2 weeks on the website. They might be all caught up on the orders. We've got a couple months til we move anyways
