Deep wounds are typically the root… (often leading to childhood wounds) your gateway emotion is like the immediate emotional response.. like a trigger..

You can do a root cause analysis in a sense. For example, let’s say you were raised by a parent who’s love is conditional. That may later cause you to feel as though you’re not doing enough to earn a partners love later. Or that you have to “do” in order to receive love. So the root is the childhood wound that you were taught love is conditional and then you can replay how that has affected your behaviors in relationships and self-worth. It’s deep work, also known as shadow work.

Does that make sense?

Yes it does, thank you

it is interesting that these nice characteristics have to come from these wounds you are saying?

Not always.. it’s not black and white and we are all shaped by experiences and our perception of those experiences and how we have translated them into our present reality.

I like to go by the practice of recognizing how my mind / body reacts if I’m triggered by something, then ask myself why does this trigger me? Then where did that come from? How can I overcome this going forward? How can I quickly recognize this thought pattern or behavior going forward so I can heal it and transmute it?
