Same - never worked for me. A piece of material between my toes that rubs and chafes constantly does not agree with my feet.

it takes awhile to toughen the tops of the feet. I bought a pair of leather slippers in Mexico and slowly got my feet used to them. I have no idea if it's healthy or not, but I do like the fact that I can wear different types of shoes and straps with no issues now

You probably have to develop callouses there before it gets easier. Do you have bunions?

yes, i alternate between the leather strap shoes, regular flipflops (flat soled) and shoes and barefoot. sometimes bandaids are necessary but eventually it gets easier to wear any type of sandal.

You can see what it looks like in the video. Basically your big toe starts to arch outward

thankfully it still seems to be in-line with the tendon and points inward/straight. I haven't had to wear shoes the last 4 years since wfh.
