Funny - I have yet to ever see an episode of Game of Thrones, but I read 5-6 of the books. George R.R. Martin also has an entertaining "Wildcard" franchise.

John Ringo's Black Tide Rising series was the action packed zombie apocalypse series that had some offbeat humor in it.

Justin Cronin's The Passage series was also - different enough to be worth a mention.

I was reading a lot of Health & Wellness books (and still follow several of the authors) before going down the #bitcoin rabbit hole at the end of 2021.

Martin lost me as a reader when he chose to sell his IP to HBO instead of completing the series for his readers. For what it's worth though, the first season is a near perfect port of the first book, it's very very good.
