Wish I could link my Spotify to Damus and also see what music other users are listening to currently 💜

👀 hmm
🤷♂️ just here to bounce ideas 💜
Could use ephemeral events for that or perhaps replaceable if you want it to be sticky
what are ephemeral and replaceable events? (sorry if that’s a dumb question, not my first language) 💜🤗
Ephemeral event is one that gets broadcasted to all clients but not stored, replaceable is like lists that you update and replace it with a new one, like the mute list or even kind0 (profile metadata event)
I’m also learning rn but this is what I grasp.
Ephemerals are not stored on relays so you must be online to receive them. Fast and save space.
Replaceable events are stored but a newer event will remove the old one so the space used is about the same. No need to be online to get those events.
Can you give an example of an ephemeral event please?
ephemeral and replaceable one seem to make the most sense. Songs change so often, that there’s no need to really cache them, I guess.
I’d love there to be a small green text going from right to left showing “Currently listening: ____” and on the left of it there could be like a sticky Spotify logo 🤔
Nice, I like that. That would be a good use case for some sort of 10 minute lifetime ephemeral messages
still learning and digesting the meaning of “ephemeral” 😄💜
There is a client that plays all the music Nostr users are sharing 😊
Oh yes. We can see the Spotify previews on Damus, Primal and many other clients.
What I’d like to see is what they are listening to live, and maybe they could even attach their favourite track/playlist to their profile in the future
A few months ago, there was a client that played a live list of the audio tracks that Nostr are sharing - I believe it was all the tidal tracks users are sharing.
**Here-- lol
The NIP that Semi and I discussed creating for external services could be used for this.
Will it work together with this one? 🤔 Nests and countdown would both work wonderfully together, especially if integrated to clients 💜

Maybe create a new ephemeral or replaceable event type for now playing that clients could display. Could also be used for movies/YouTube videos
