Interesting. I thought you were taking that in a different direction.
I feel like I put my heart and mind into thoughtful note/post and then get some token “like” and nothing else. To me that’s like getting a blank face to my warm and genuine smile.
On the internet you can get tens of thousands of “smiles and nods” whereas in real life I’m only going to see a few dozen faces a day. I need some value-for-value screening mechanism or I’ll be drained
If you typed me a message, especially if it was more than a word or two.
Then I would respond in writing to your message.
Look at the average Nostr user’s notes and it seems to me likes far outweigh thoughtful replies or zaps.
Because often its not a person to person engagement. Like we are doing now.
If I posted a picture of my dog. I would likely get some likes and possibly a comment or two of someone who wants to talk about the picture.
Just as in real life if I was walking my dog at the park. Some smiles. Maybe a verbal engagement or two.
