I think that masculinity is about being able to control the expression of your emotions while allowing yourself to acknowledge and feel them. This can mean what you're saying here, holding in tears until there is an appropriate setting to cry, but it can also mean allowing yourself to cry in public when it is appropriate to do so. Refusing to cry at a funeral isn't necessary a sign of masculinity.
This is also helpful for other emotions, such as anger, which unfortunately #StevenCrowder does not understand fully, apparently.
