you can only pay off debt with assets if you sell the assets.
therefore a strategic reserve of gold or bitcoin does not pay off the debt unless it is sold to retire outstanding dollar liabilities

Wouldn’t over index too much there. It only states that the only way to sell is to pay down debt. Not that it must be sold. 20 year lockup.
agree it offsets deficits on paper for sure
Hmmm I think this implies a better financial position for us gov, therefore no need to settle the debt but just be more trustworthy.
