Genuine question: why does Gen Z, especially teenagers, talk like they’re actual retards (excuse my use of that word, there’s no other way I can describe this)?

I could drive over to the poorest and most illiterate part of LA and still hear speech that sounds more human than I would on a high school campus.

Pathetic, concerning, and a bit tragic.
