At just 20, he gave us Aeneas, Anchises, and Ascanius.

At 23, he carved The Rape of Proserpina.

At 25, the breathtaking Apollo and Daphne.

Nearly all his most magnificent creations were executed in his youth. Honestly, anyone who doesn't rank Bernini among the greats should be tapped repeatedly with a hammer until they reconsider their choices.

Most of his masterpieces are housed at the Galleria Borghese in Rome, created under the patronage of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, a man who gave Baroque its desirable taste.
