Martyr John the New, a merchant known for his honesty and piety, was in #Belgrade when a Venetian accused him of renouncing Christianity. Despite facing torture – beatings, being hung upside down, and burned – John refused to deny his faith. He was eventually beheaded in 1330 after which his body was dragged through the streets. Christians later gathered his remains, and miraculous healings were reported at his relics.

O Holy #Martyr John, intercede with Christ our God to save our souls! #SaintsOfGod #OrthodoxFaith #Christianity
