Your skin then is better than mine after several months of retinoids, but Iām also older. What is your process?
I have good genetics on my part (my mom has still great skin and she's 85) but I felt like during the last year I was depleted like suddenly and I felt like maybe that was a reflection on my inside too. So I started taking more and more actions.
Never tried retinoids, tbh
Summary:
During the last 2 months I have used:
- Profey redlight lamp on Amazon (but there are better options!)
- shwally Methylene blue serum (the one with the ghk-cu peptide)
- I cook gelatinous broths almost everyday (oxtail, shanks, ossobuco, bones...)
- glycine supplement every night
I also do other things, but some I was already doing before (magnesium bisglycinate , VIT d & K2, blue light blocker and taking sun in the morning, tallow cream only on my skin) and others that I am still testing and are more personalized (like progest-E, dessicated thyroid supplements & colostrumt)
The best skin (and hair) care 'product' is what your own body produces for itself, which has the rather unfortunate name of sebum (at least in English). A mix of waxes, esthers and oils that your body self-tunes in both quality and quantity (produced) via biofeedback.
The mistake that most ppl make with caring for their skin & hair is that they constantly strip this protective coating off through their use of soaps and detergents on their body. And then seek to replace it with artificial products or even natural replacements (eg tallow). If you don't strip off yr own self produced skin and hair protective and nourishing sebum coating and eat properly and exercise regularly then you will have naturally glowing and healthy skin & hair. With very little effort and even less cost.
I might agree and this is what I do usually.
But the small changes I've done, made all the difference in this phase. Peptides & collagen are what body need already but in the exact form, red light make rebuilding of skin faster. Tallow is a nice to have during Swiss winter.
