I think it helps to spend most of your effort in this area orange pilling businesses that you frequent. Small businesses in particular are easier because you can have a more direct relationship with the owners or managers, but in general if you have already established a certain mutual loyalty and familiarity there is a higher probability of them at least hearing you out and taking the time to learn from you/ explore resources you provide. The bigger the business, the harder it is for one or a small group of customers/ patrons to effect the internal practices, especially financials.
