i've always found the process to enter the US as a tourist super annoying. this is just too much.

I visited India a decade ago and the visa process was pretty straightforward, but I did find it odd that they expect applicants to disclose their religious background.

weird af, and the US has the race thing which creeps me out ngl

Yes, racial profiling is our national pastime.

for me it's a huge issue since i'm mediterranean, kind of a mix of roman and moorish so a Hispanic or Arab depending on who you ask lol. a friend of mine who looks kinda similar had some really bad experiences with the cops over there.

Yes, you’re just asking for trouble showing up here with your swarthy face.

Being an interracial couple in the States feels like living your life in a constant war zone. Exhausting.

I mostly forget about it, here.

it's kinda strange because the US has a culture of unity above race, religion, etc. but in practice there are a lot of tensions between groups. here in Spain nobody cares.

Yeah. I just can't deal with it, anymore. I could never decide if the racism or the anti-racism was more irritating and bizarre.

that's the thing about racism and antiracism. the second one sounds good but in practice it's just a NOT operation on the logic. eg, if it's anti-black-racism, then you must be racist against whites. but they don't say that.

just like antifascism. that's just code for communism. most antifa consider big L classical liberals who like Paine and Jefferson and such, to be fascists. and a lot of these types, who believe in politics, think that anyone who doesn't believe that all people of category X that they consider to be degenerate are not so much.

myself, i take people as they are but the patterns are actually just factual and statistical. basically boys from north africa, for example, mauritania, morocco, west african republic or whatever it is. i met one nice moroccan in my life. he was Berber. all the african ones, especially the ones who look like the meme "look at me, now i'm the X" meme. never met ONE in my life who wasn't a straight up psycho gangster or at minimum petty criminal. but my sample size is very small, and was mostly in the context of homeless and prison populations, are inherently messed up people so, idk.

anyway, i'm not planning on moving much outside of the region i'm now in, and aside from the clearly active process of infiltrating those areas with immigrants, very visible especially in Novi Sad, not the most objectionable thing about these places but trending to becoming a problem, because they already have enough issues with the football hooligans and BMW gangster types as it was. pleased to be in a place that isn't even on a major highway, just a little two lane, half dilapidated road and half the houses are empty in the towns, if they aren't partly falling down.

This probably depends on where you live. In my area, no one really gives a shit. Where I grew up... It was harder when I dated a black girl in my teen years. I didn't understand it then and I still don't. And weirdly this issue isn't limited to one race. The issue differs by area in my experience. Maybe our melting pot nature just leads to conflict like this? I would guess we are one of the most diverse countries. Mix in some historical issues and the fiat world leader and problems abound.

I dated a Mexican guy in high school and his family threw an absolute fit. I was like ???

Both of my nieces are married/engaged to a Mexican guy, now, and it's still a constant issue and it's like

Greece is next, on my bucket list.

My American relatives keep having to fly over here, for visits, as the Europeans don't want to go there, anymore.

Visiting USA used to be a highlight.
