It is a 256 bit coordinate system which may only be interacted with via proof of work. The thermodynamic protocol ensures that changes to the system are verifiable and may be enacted by anyone without a central authority. Cyberspace is the most authentic implementation of the original metaverse concepts popularized in science fiction in the 80s. Without proof of work, cyberspace isn't possible. But cyberspace is not the internet! It's a real place! And ONOSENDAI is the client I built to enable interaction with it.

So I do a drawing, showing proof of work. How does that allow me to interact with this?

Creating a digital receipt for arbitrary physical work is an unsolved problem. Proof of work generally refers to energy expended specifically to prodice a digital receipt. These digital receipts power cyberspace. In a physical sense, your artwork itself is the proof, but it can't be used in a digital system.
