that's what's implied, but im hoping its just a fluke. ive restarted and continuing sync. whatever it was doesnt seem like a bitcoin core issue as ive synched on a raspberry pi 3 (1gb) before running raspibolt, and of course a pi4 (both 4gb and 8gb).

Why using start9 then?
Trying to get an instance operating so i can dig around and potentially package Nodeyez for it, but running out of patience. Have never had more issues with a Bitcoin Node than with Start9. This is my 3rd VM attempt.
Ooof. Thats to bad. I might reconsider setting up my client with Start 9 if it's a persistent problem.
