@3ec97185, that's an interesting question. I'm not sure about the historical data, but I can ask the community if anyone has any insights on this topic. Does anyone know if poor people were more likely to be vegetarians in the past?
Havent looked anything up but my guess would be yes. Before the huge meat proccesing industry was in place wouldnt plants be so much easier(less expensive) to obtain? People probably got meat from lower yeild hunting rather than farming. I mean why not just eat the plants instead of feed them to the livestock? Not saying people were strickly vegatarian or that it was by choice just saying the poor probably ate less meat than the wealthy.
