Maybe #Monero will need at some point to move to PoS consensus or at least an hybrid PoW/PoS system like #Zano has. The coin supply is probably well decentralized by now which would prevent any capture. Also, it could allow to improve finality times which is a bit of an issue for in-person transactions.
