Not exactly. More like Telegram, et al.

Maybe it’s nice for community building or businesses. Mixed feelings

Or even just group DMs. I hate using telegram just nostr me up

Not sure how many clients have already supported this (public group chat) https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/28.md

But at least, AFAIK, Amethyst and Nostros have already supported it
