Value 4 Value works at scale.
We need creators to draw users.
We need users to monetize creators.
Micropayments can be plentiful and bountiful at scale which creates a perfect synergy on Nostr protocol.
Stay the course. Enjoy the ride.

Throwing a forgettable concert with a NOSTR interface doesnāt immediately deserve zaps. Neither does a pretty girl with tattoos posing scandalously.
We need original and impactful *art*, *music*, *philosophy*, *science* shared on NOSTR ⦠AND that sharing needs to be uniquely, more conveniently, etc. consumed digitally.
For example, a concert is meant to be consumed in person. The value of the concert is the human element of a shared, live experience. Once the novelty of zapping and V4V wears off and/or more artists start streaming via NOSTR creators should expect the value to trend towards its marginal operating cost to push a live event out digitally, which will trend towards zero.
Itās the great reckoning our generation facesā¦all this digital content is essentially worthless. Even if it is āinvaluableā ⦠the equivalent of Jeff Boothās oxygen analogy.
There will always be someone willing to post/stream content essentially for free. Unless there is something TRULY unique about that content, the value trends to zero. Thatās why corporate social media has to sell the metadataā¦the actual digital content we generate is worthless.
Monetizing content is always tricky, especially for digital content. Painting is a horrible way of creating digital content, but more easily commercialized.
I think about any trade that creates value.
Letās say Iām a hairstylist. I do videos on color techniques, q+a, product reviews and etc.
It doesnāt have to be just the painting. Itās everything around the painting. All the details can be monetized in a way. Although not as easy like you say.
Iām guessing you know a thing or two about this so Iāll just stop there. Lol
Thatās where the other āVā in V4V comes into play.
Right, and think of scale this wayā¦.
Letās say a like is one penny.
1 million likes is $10k.
The proof of concept is building out. The tools are calibrating to make this happen.
It doesnāt have to be 5.4 million sats from 25 people. Everyone can enjoy an event for pocket change.
Agreed. Right now it seems like V4V advocates are giving out participation trophies to creators while shaming people with the zapotentialā¦
(I zap from my doxxed personal account).
Yea, lots of āproof of conceptā examples right now š Ultimately it is up to artists trying to monetize to find ways to connect with a genuine audience in order to monetize. Those who are serious and treat themselves like an actual business have the best chance of finding success with it long term.
Iām doing my best with my oil paintings, check out my page nostr:npub1k78qzy2s9ap4klshnu9tcmmcnr3msvvaeza94epsgptr7jce6p9sa2ggp4
Thats quite a pear pair
Another problem is that 99% of my feed is Bitcoin and Nostr content. Discovery is shit in my experience. It's a difficult problem to overcome and I think it's going to take a lot longer than most people believe.
