Developers, forgive my ignorance, but why can't you zap on the Liquid network? 🤌

Because it's not lightning🤷🏽
When you're liquid you can only splash
You can have lightning on liquid, but that would be a completely separate network. Technically it's possible to have bridge node to go from one to the other (I think, not 100% sure), but they don't exist yet.
You can but its not interoperable at the moment.
