Let's not take a traditional approach to Notifications on Nostr.

I believe that Nostr should have its own separate notification center because it is more than just a social and limiting notifications to just clients is not appropriate.

Therefore, having a dedicated notification center for Nostr would be the most sensible solution.

#[0] has already worked in this direction with Pingstr (DMs) and it works.

Now, imagine having a notification dashboard for social, marketplace, and long-form notifications in one place with full customization options. 🤌

I said this many times before and I am still convinced we can timwarp the evolution betweenn attention economy and #value4value economy by dropping notifications completely and come up with something better aligned to the content shock times we live in. Think of sats flowing and not notifications issued.

Even if it means dedicating my own sats to sources of value to make them able to flow into my direction according to my settings. This would give the metaphor upstream a much more fitting image. Or do the reverse. Let sats flow upstream to the sources where my attention is most valued by myself.
