Before I had any understanding about Bitcoin I was stuck in the fiat hamster wheel and tried my hand at being an inventor and entrepreneur, on top of being a cannabis cultivator.

I’m a perpetual refiner with an engineering mindset and that lead me to design this product; it was called the “Plant Forge”. Fully modular and adjustable plant support system specifically designed for cannabis cultivation but also worked well for any plant that needs support (climbing plants, peppers, tomatoes, etc).

Had several iterations of prototypes made and the product worked exactly as intended. Was a pleasure to grow with but it never took off and I couldn’t crowdfund start up costs.

Went as far as a patent application which was unsuccessful (and expensive). Sure wish I was able to spend all that 2018 fiat on Bitcoin. But it was a very fun project and I am proud of the work I did, even though it was a total loss (minus these sweet design renders). That’s life.

Failure is where the winning begins. Most are too afraid to even start a project, good job.

I like it. I made something similar for my cannabis grow back in the day.

I took some casters and made mobile cards 3 feed by 2 feet that i could roll around my greenhouse for maintenance

Yes, mobile plants when they’re well into flower is a huge plus. One of the reasons why this idea came about.

I loved trellising my gardens and by far would get the best results from that method of plant support, but hated the limitations of trellised rows. Immobile and very hard to work within. So I thought why not trellis each plant so I can move them around as needed and thin them out with substantially less effort / time. Then designed the solution from there.

The pole anchors are removable and the poles modular as well as the grommets the nets seat within so for most of the plants life in the pot it’s just a pot. Which made it much more ergonomic.

True say!

Being able to reach everything to prune and top was huge.

But the bigger your grow the harder it becomes 😬

Yes! These were great for tents too bc you could take them out of the tent to thin instead of having to crawl around in those things or just abandon car for the unreachable portions.

I have a love hate relationship with grow tents. I need them because of my climate. But can’t wait for a heated greenhouse 😎

I think it’s amazing how everyone’s brain works differently. I could never imagine something like this, let alone build it.

As the saying goes: necessity is the mother of invention.

But yeah this sort of project is very natural to me. It was one of my favorite “work” things I’ve done in my life. I loved directing the designers and engineers and ratcheting it all to an optimal state. I could work a fiat job as a product designer any day - that’s my shit.

That’s awesome. So many minds coming together and contributing in their own unique ways to advance society and accumulate capital. Such a beautiful thing that is only hindered by government.

That’s fuckin sweet! Hopefully the experience pays tangible dividends in the future

That's way cool. No more staking branches.
