It isn't that I don't "like" ecash. It's that for me, it doesn't solve any problem that lightning doesn't solve already, because I already have the channels I need.

I can see that for someone new to bitcoin who cannot afford yet to open a channel, it could be helpful. But I'm not super excited about it, since it has enormous trade offs in terms of sovereignty.

Can ecash be transacted completely offline? If so, that could be an important use case.

Cashu-style ecash can be transacted offline if you trust the sender not to double spend you.

Other forms of ecash relying on trusted hardware can also be transacted offline.
