Trump thinks we can't walk and chew gum, at the same time.

He can't either. Yet he tries all the time

Rather weird for him to write that, anyway, as trying to push migrants over the EU border has been one of Putin's asymmetric warfare strategies. 😅

Yes Putin is loading you with migrants and it is an asymmetric warfare, but... you think Trump is Putin's agent?

No, but I think he's always down for a good deal.

I see... he said other similar things too then. Like the one where he emphasised that he was the one who sent the javelins to Ukraine, or that he wanted the rare minerals deal so that Russians will not bomb the mines and a few others that i don't remember now. He is not looking for peace actually, he tries to position himself in a better place since, as he would say, Russians have almost all the cards. And Russians also noticed his statements about javelins etc.

Yeah, the Russians actually seemed shocked at how dramatically Trump supports Russia and hammers on Ukraine.

They aren't used to such bizarrely syncophantic behavior. Reminds me of how incredulous Putin was after the Tucker interview because Tucker didn't ask him any difficult questions and just let him drone on and on.

What the Russians noticed, is that he doesn't really support Russia, he wants to deceive Russia. And they remember well that he was the one who abandoned the deal they had about nuclear weapons. So perhaps we are not very close to having peace in Ukraine.

Yeah, i didn't like Tucker's interview also. Too friendly...

I think the Russians are smart enough to be slightly creeped out and wonder if they're being played.

He sucks up to them, in public, and he uses them as a foil, to upset the Europeans, but he also quietly signed off on another round of sanctions.

I don't know if Russians really understand that they might been played. They didn't with the Minsk's agreements, the nuclear weapons and other agreements. I don't think there is an agreement that the West fully honoured. Maybe there is, i don't remember.

Maybe Russians are expecting that Trump, as a businessman, might want a mutually beneficial deal, but as i have said many times Russians are based on industry, Trump is a rentier. Rentiers are not based on mutually beneficial deals...

Trump is just haggling and wants some good deals, to help finance his Big Plans at home. He has no friends, just negotiating partners.

Yeah ok, but plans back at home depend on the value of the dollar and things get tricky on that. And i just remembered that Trump also threatened BRICS states

I think this time is about who has the better bait and if the other will bite it...
