if you kink a bend or otherwise put a big stress riser in it, the base material strength advantage doesn't matter, because the structural integrity is compromised

if you anneal the 6061 to bend it without damaging the tubing wall, it's not strong anymore. annealed 6061 is weaker than 3003

so, use a material that is meant for bending in the first place
